Computer Diagnostics & Fuel Injection

The automotive industry has progressed in leaps and bounds over the past decades delivering vehicles with computer technology. Fuel injectors, spark plugs, the Air Bag system – just to name a few components are all controlled by an on board computer systems.

 

Should there be an issue – from an indicator light require replacing or malfunctioning component of the engine – the on board computer alert will notify the driver. For example, the dashboard may display a message like “ABS Brakes” (or something less specific) “Check Engine.”

 

A vehicles engine management not functioning correctly may cause:

• Problematic or difficult starting
• Loss of performance and slow or sluggish acceleration
• Poor fuel efficiency
• Engine misfires
• Intermittent or occasional stalling of the engine
• Engine overheating
• Illumination of the check engine light

Should any of the warning lights appear in the instrument panel whilst driving or whilst starting the vehicle and the lights do not extinguish, a diagnostic check is highly recommended to correctly diagnose the issue.
